Driving up to Auckland stopped on south Lake Taupo for picnic. Whole beach is pumice stones.
Whales were cancelled due to tough weather so had a museum trip. The Pier Hotel was part of whaling industry and is our accomodation.
We are in Kaikora on the coast, planning whale watching tomorrow. Lots of wildlife around.

Moved to Christchurch and staying in Sumner Bay by the beach.
